This isn’t just kitchen rental. It’s a complete ecosystem designed to help food entrepreneurs operate legally, build sustainable businesses, and grow within the Fayette County community.

Food entrepreneurs across Fayette County face the same challenge.

Cottage food laws limit what you can sell.

Commercial kitchens are miles away in Atlanta.

Catering and wholesale opportunities remain out of reach.

Without access to licensed kitchen space and business guidance, many talented entrepreneurs stay stuck operating from home kitchens.

From Scratch Commissary exists to remove that barrier.

Licensed Commercial Kitchen

Professional-grade kitchen space that allows food entrepreneurs to operate legally and expand their offerings.

Compliance Support

Guidance through health department requirements, certifications, and licensing needed to run a legitimate food business.

Business Development

Operational support, training, and mentorship designed to help entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses.

Entrepreneur Community

A shared environment where food entrepreneurs collaborate, share knowledge, and grow together.

From Scratch Commissary exists to support local entrepreneurs and strengthen the local food economy.

As Fayette County continues to grow, local food entrepreneurs should be positioned to capture those opportunities rather than watching them go elsewhere.

By providing the infrastructure needed to scale, From Scratch Commissary helps ensure the talent already present in this community can thrive.

Her journey is rooted in legacy.

Tameka was raised by two women who used food as a way to serve and uplift their community. Her grandmother, a cafeteria manager at Grove Park Elementary in Atlanta, made sure every child who came through her line was fed — regardless of their ability to pay. On weekends and holidays, she baked cakes and pies from her home, creating both income and connection within the neighborhood.

Her mother, a certified nursing assistant, dedicated her life to caring for others. Beyond her work in healthcare, she also prepared and sold meals from their apartment complex, using food as a way to support and bring people together.

At the time, Tameka didn’t fully understand the sacrifice. Today, she recognizes it as purpose.

She saw firsthand that food is more than nourishment — it is a tool for hope, dignity, and connection. That realization became the foundation for her entrepreneurial vision.

As the Founder of From Scratch, Tameka is building more than a business — she is creating a pathway. From Scratch is a shared commercial kitchen and business hub designed to support food entrepreneurs with the space, resources, and guidance they need to grow from informal operations into sustainable, thriving businesses.

Her mission is clear: to ensure that those who feed our communities never have to go without the support they need to succeed.
