Meet the Founder

Tameka O’Neal
Founder & Owner
Tameka O’Neal is a passionate entrepreneur, community builder, and visionary leader dedicated to creating opportunities for others to grow and thrive. With over 15 years of managerial experience, she has built her career on leadership, service, and a deep commitment to empowering people.
Her journey is rooted in legacy.
Tameka was raised by two women who used food as a way to serve and uplift their community. Her grandmother, a cafeteria manager at Grove Park Elementary in Atlanta, made sure every child who came through her line was fed — regardless of their ability to pay. On weekends and holidays, she baked cakes and pies from her home, creating both income and connection within the neighborhood.
Her mother, a certified nursing assistant, dedicated her life to caring for others. Beyond her work in healthcare, she also prepared and sold meals from their apartment complex, using food as a way to support and bring people together.
At the time, Tameka didn’t fully understand the sacrifice. Today, she recognizes it as purpose.
She saw firsthand that food is more than nourishment — it is a tool for hope, dignity, and connection. That realization became the foundation for her entrepreneurial vision.
As the Founder of From Scratch, Tameka is building more than a business — she is creating a pathway. From Scratch is a shared commercial kitchen and business hub designed to support food entrepreneurs with the space, resources, and guidance they need to grow from informal operations into sustainable, thriving businesses.
Her mission is clear: to ensure that those who feed our communities never have to go without the support they need to succeed.
Through From Scratch, Tameka is not only honoring the legacy of the women who raised her — she is extending it, creating opportunities for a new generation of entrepreneurs to build, grow, and succeed… from scratch.
